Organisation founded by Malcolm X after his break with the Black Muslims in 1963. This rival organisation promoted the idea of universal brotherhood. Still, Malcolm X felt that brotherhood would be achieved more readily in the South than in the North because Southerners knew they were racists and Northerners couldn't recognise the fact that they were also racists.
