Petra
The 15th century A.D. Peruvian and archaeological site in Jordan that is known for its rock scupted architecture and elaborate water conduits system. Petra was abandoned shortly after Spanish conquistadors invaded the neighboring areas, falling to oblivion until it was rediscovered in the early 1900s.
Petra has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985 and was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007.
