Phaistos

Minoan palace site on the south coast of Crete, important from 2000 BC until it was destroyed with the other Minoan palaces in about 1450 BC. It is famous for the Phaistos disk, whose circular inscription - though Minoan in form - is unique and as yet undecipherable.
