Raëlism

A religion founded in 1974 by Frenchman Claude Vorilhon, who changed his name to Raël. Their main belief is that life on earth was seeded by extraterrestrials called Elohim, who were advanced enough to be able to create life from scratch. These Elohim have throughout history appeared to humanity as angels and significant religious figures, such as Jesus.

Raëlism is largely a peaceful religion which promotes world peace and open sexuality. Some of their more esoteric practises include the claims that they have already perfected human cloning, and Raël has expressed a desire to create a clone of Hitler so that he can be put on trial for war crimes.
