Reynaldo Bignone
Reynaldo Benito Antonio Bignone (1928- ) is an Argentine general who served as dictatorial President of Argentina from July 1, 1982 to December 10, 1983. The 29th of December of 2011 he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in the kidnappings, torture, and murders of the Dirty War committed in a secret prison in a public hospital during the military regime that ruled the country between 1976 and 1983.
The sentence, issued by the 2 Oral Federal Court of Buenos Aires, is added to the two life imprisonment that the former general of 83 years has received in previous trials for crimes of the dictatorship.
