Riyad Farid Hijab, born 1956, is a Syrian politician. He was Prime Minister of Syria in the year 2012, serving under the President Bashar al-Assad.
From 2011 to 2012, he was Minister of Agriculture. In August 2012, his spokesman and several news organisations stated he had resigned and defected to the rebel side in the Syrian civil war, although according to Syrian government sources he was dismissed.
He was boycotted by the rebels, Hijab was named by President Bashar al-Assad as Prime Minister of Syria.
