Shavian alphabet
A phoenetic writing system for the English language, originally created by Ronald Kingsley Read as part of a competition that arose from the will of playwright George Bernard Shaw.
It has two main advantages over the regular Latin alphabet. First, it eliminates the confusion in pronuncing homographs e.g. the two ways to pronounce 'tear', as in a teardrop versus tearing paper. Second, it makes it easier for writers to spell correctly and reduces the confusion that can arise from misspellings.
