Spice experiment
Experiment research on the upper layers of the ocean to observe the spiciness, including mixed-layer on the horizontal scale from 10 m to 1 000 miles. the objectives of the experiment are:
Spice a quantitative relationship between the density of the mixed layer and seasonal thermocline;
to find if the salinity varies on the shorter horizontal scales of temperature;
confirm that the spiciness in the mixed layer than in the seasonal thermocline; and comes to
to find out where and to what extent the length of the scale reduction in spiciness. Data for the experiment were taken from a cruise in the Eastern North Pacific Ocean between 25 and Jan. 24 of 35deg N, Feb. 20, 1997. Measurements were made with the use of SeaSoar, which is equipped with a CTD and a fluorometer.
