Super Bowl XLVI
The NFL's championship game between the NY Giants and New England Patriots played on Sunday, February 5, 2012, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was the first Super Bowl to ever be played in Indianapolis. The New England Patriots won the American Football Conference (AFC) championship for the 2011 regular season with 13 wins and 3 losses, while the New York Giants won the National Football Conference (NFC) 2011 championship with 9 regular season wins and 7 losses. Super Bowl XLVI is a rematch between the two teams as they competed in Super Bowl XLII, with the Patriots winning 38–35 to complete the first perfect regular season since the 1972.
Led by quarterback Eli Manning, the Giants staged a comeback drive during the fourth quarter and beat the Patriots with a score of 21 to 17.
