TA-50 PAK FA

Nicknamed the 'super weapon', the TA-50 PAK FA is fifth generation Russian stealth fighter manufactured by the Russian aeronautic giant Sukhoi. PAK FA stands for Perspektivnyi Aviatsionnyi Kompleks Frontovoi Aviatsyi or Future Air Complex for Tactical Air Forces. Developed together with India, the fighter is set to go into action in 2016 and could give Russia an advantage over the U.S. in the skies.

Compared to the U.S. Lockheed F-22 Raptor, the TA-50 PAK FA is superior in terms of maneuverability, weaponry and range. It has greater agility with its combination of thrust vectoring, all moving tail surfaces, and excellent aerodynamic design, than does the F-35. While the stealth fighter is less "stealthy," that is, able to evade radar detection, than its U.S. counterparts, it makes up for that slight disadvantage with its incredible maneuverability in the skies that is at least on par with the Raptor and far exceeds the Lightning II. However, the U.S. fighters still hold one advantage — data technology with better sensor and data fusion, which processes information about the jet fighter's surroundings and feeds it to the pilot to make quick decisions.

The TA-50 PAK FA is powered by a pair of Saturn AL-41F engines and will have the ability to supercruise while being armed with next generation air-to-air, air-to-ground, air-to-ship missiles and equipped with AESA radar.
