Theatre of Dionysia
Named after the God of wine, it is where one of the most memorable events of the year was performed. A religious festival which lasted ten days was held there, performed in honour of the Gods. Popular poets and playwrights would entertain the audience with plays. The acting was done by men; women were not allowed to participate. The entrance fee was two obols and those who could not afford were allowed in for free.
