Thomas More

Sir Thomas More (7 February 1478 - 6 July 1535) was an English lawyer, philosopher, author, statesman and a councillor to Henry VIII of English. He was opposed to the Protestant Reformation and his refusal to recognise the King as Head of the Church of England meant he was imprisoned and later beheaded. He was made a saint in 1935 and is also well known for his 1516 book, Utopia.
