Truth Goggles
In-development software, developed by MIT student Dan Schultz, that aims to automatically check any statement of fact given on a website and assess how true it is, similar to a spell check function. This is achieved by intelligently cross-referencing the statement with an established factual database. Initially, the database will be political information repository PolitiFact, but can later be expanded to other fields.
It is hoped that this software will better inform voters in the run-ups of future elections. Statements made by politicians will be easily verified for accuracy without the user having to spend any amount of time researching the issue themselves.
