WinSun

WinSun is a Chinese company that has successfully printed the world's first 3D-printed high-rise. Five-story apartment building is complete with decorative elements inside and out and was put on display in January 2015 in Suzhou Industrial Park in central China. Established in 2002, WinSun engages in the research and development of new materials for construction. It currently has 200 employees and 77 national patent certificates in China.

While architecture firms elsewhere compete with their designs for 3D-printed buildings WinSun has quietly been setting about getting the job done in March 2014, WinSun printed 10 houses in 24 hours with a proprietary 3D printer that uses a mixture of Earth construction and industrial waste, such as glass and tailings, around a base of quick-drying cement mixed with a special hardening agent.

WinSun used a 3D printer array is at 6.6 feet high, 10 feet wide and 40 feet long (20 of 33 of 132 feet) to print the building's large pieces. Structures are then assembled on site, complete with steel reinforcements and insulation in order to comply with official construction standards.
