An air refuelling operation that extends the unrefueled range of aircraft transiting from CONUS and a theater, or any two theaters. This operation reduces the number of aircraft on the ground at forward staging bases, minimises potential en route maintenance delays, enables airlift assets to maximise their payloads, and facilitates rapid transit of combat aircraft to area of operations.
