Ardisia

Genus of about 250 species of evergreen trees and shrubs from moist woodland in tropicat and warm-temperate areas of Asia, Australia, and North and south America. Ardisia is a slow-growing shrub grown as a pot plant in conservatories and homes for its abundant crop of long lasting, bright red berries. The glossy leathery leaves make this slow-growing shrub an attractive foliage plant. The berries follow the tiny flowers which appear in summer and they stay on the plant for many month. The Coral Berry should be kept cool in winter and away from draught at all times.
