Array

In programming, a collection of data items, all of the same type, in which each item's position is uniquely designated by an integer. In database administration, a group of data cells that are arranged by the dimensions of the data. For example, a spreadsheet is a two-dimensional array in which the cells are arranged in rows and columns. A three-dimensional array can be visualised as a cube with each dimension forming one edge of the cube. See also cell, dimension, variable.
