An arrhythmia in the atrium caused by many disorganised electrical impulses originating and spreading through the heart muscle. Atrial fibrillation can cause an irregular and rapid heartbeat ranging from 100 to 400 beats per minute (as much as 4x faster than a normal heart). The fastest growing patient population and most common arrhythmia.
