Bayfiles
Bayfiles is a new website by Peter Sunde and Frederik Neij, the founders of infamous filesharing website The Pirate Bay.
Unlike their previous site, this one will aim to respect the copyrights of the files being shared. Files that potentially violate the law will be assessed by experts in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and removed if necessary. Additionally, files are not searchable, so can only be downloaded by those that have had a direct link given to them.
Critics state that this is merely a new legitimate front for an illegal filesharing network. The site is likely to receive vast amounts of copyrighted content to their servers in a short amount of time, which the owners know will be difficult if not impossible to moderate. Outside programmes and websites can also be set up to fairly easily to search through the content on bayfiles' servers.
