Bird flu
A mutant strain of avian flu which is resistant to vaccination shows signs of resurgence in China and Vietnam. The virus which had been effectively eliminated from 63 countries infected during its peak in 2006. Wild birds introduce the virus but people's actions in producing and marketing poultry products spreads it. The strain has affected most parts of central and northern Vietnam and poses a great threat to Japan and Korea.
