Anti-spasmodic used for cramps, muscle and menstrual pain. Traditionally considered a "female" herb, Black Cohosh has been used to balance female hormones and regulate menstrual periods12 and sometimes to induce labour and regulates contractions. Also used as a cough suppressant and expectorant, a diaphoretic for eliminating toxins, an anti-inflammatory in arthritis13 and to lower high blood pressure14
