Brocot suspension

A device fitted to a clock's pendulum suspension cock to allow rate adjustment from the dial. The pendulum spring is embraced by sliding brass chops or jaws threaded to receive a vertical screw which can be rotated by bevel wheels from a small square, usually fitted to the dial at 12 o'clock. This alters the effective length of the pendulum.
