Chafer fabric

A fabric, coated with unvulcanized rubber, that is wrapped around the bead section of the tyre before vulcanization of the complete tire. The purpose of the chafer fabric is to maintain an abrasion-resistant later of rubber in contact with the wheel on which the tyre is mounted.
