A video connexion that delivers component video, along with useful ancilliary data. Despite the 'D', don't confuse it with any digital video standards such as DVI. The video signals are the same as component video (with up to 1080i high definition supported), while additional signals indicate the resolution of the video signal, whether it is progressive or interlaced, and its aspect ratio. The display device can use this information to set itself appropriately.
