Dieffenbachia
Genus of about 30 species of evergreen perennials from tropical forest in North and South America and the West Indies. Most cultivars are derived from Dieffenbachia seguina. A well-grown dieffenbachia may reach 5 ft. or more, but under ordinary room conditions some of the lower leaves will fall to give a False Palm effect. It is an easy-to grow plant. Keep away from draughts. All parts may cause mild stomach upset if ingested, and contact with the sap may irritate skin.
