A web slang of acronyms developed in the past decade, used as shorthand for communicating in cyberspace, e.g., in e-mails, instant messages and chat; for example, AFAIK for 'as far as I know', ATM for 'at the moment', CUL for 'see you later' and IMO for 'in my opinion'. This shortened form of speech is also called 'Webspeak', 'Internet speak' and 'IMglish'.
