A process to enhance picture quality. A DLP chip contains a rectangular array of up to 2 million hinge-mounted microscopic mirrors; each of these micromirrors measures less than one-fifth the width of a human hair. In essence, every pixel on a DLP chip is a reflective mirror, which amplifies the light generated from the chip. Since the light generated by each pixel has its own amplification ability, there is no limit to the size of the screen that can be manufactured. Brightness and contrast is even across the entire surface of the screen.
