Entry point
The point in a coded bit stream after which the decoder can be initialized and begin decoding correctly. The picture that follows the entry point will be an I-picture or a P-picture. If the first transmitted picture is not an I-picture, the decoder may produce one or more pictures during acquisition. Also referred to as an Access Unit (AU).
