An approach to cognitive lexical semantics developed by Charles Fillmore. Attempts to uncover the properties of the structured inventory of knowledge associated with words, and to consider what consequences the properties of this knowledge system might have for a model of semantics. The central construct in Frame Semantics is that of the semantic frame.
