A loyalty program offered by many airlines to retain air travel customers. Typically, airline customers enrolled in the program accumulate frequent flyer miles based on trips flown on that airline or its partners. In recent years, miles can also be earned by using co-branded credit cards for purchases. The flyer miles can be redeemed for free air travel; seating class upgrades, airport lounge access or priority boarding, etc.
