Full-time servo AF

A focus mode available during live view and movie recording.

During live view and movie recording, the camera focuses continuously on the subject. Unlike AF-C, however, in which autofocus must be initiated by pressing the shutter-release button halfway, autofocus is initiated when the camera enters live view or AF-F mode is selected. The camera focuses using single-servo AF when the shutter-release button is pressed halfway and focus locks while the shutter-release button is in this position. Full-time servo AF resumes when the shutter-release button is released. "Servo" in this case refers to servo control (auto feedback control). This function is the same as full-time AF in COOLPIX cameras.
