Glucose screening test

A preliminary test used to cheque for diabetes. Also called a glucose challenge test (GCT). A person consumes a sweet glucose drink one hour before having some blood drawn. If the blood work shows elevated levels of glucose, it's possible that not enough insulin is being produced to process the extra glucose and a glucose tolerance test is ordered.
