Governing principles
In blending theory, the principles that have been proposed in order to constrain the process of conceptual integration or blending. These principles operate in a way that facilitates the goals of blending. A number of governing principles have been proposed by Gilles Fauconnier and Mark Turner in their 2002 book The Way We Think.
