Harmonic distortion (HD)
A form of distortion in analogue circuits that generates harmonics (signals whose frequencies are integer multiples of the input signal). It is calculated as the ratio of a single harmonic to the level of the original signal. Harmonic distortion is related to total harmonic distortion (THD), the ratio of the sum of multiple harmonics to the level of the original signal.
