Henotheism

Henotheism is a religious system where people worship one god more than other gods, while acknowledging that other gods exist. It was first used by German philosopher Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph von Schelling (1775–1854) and made popular by the Orientalist, Max Müller (1823–1900). Early Israelite religion is believed to have been henotheistic.
