Italian hostage, Franco Lamolinara, and British hostage, Chris McManus, were both killed in a failed rescue attempt on March 8, 2012. Their captors, believed to be the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram denies responsibility for the killings. Both men were engineers working for B. Stabilini and Co. in Abuja, Nigeria when they were taken hostage in May, 2011. The Italian government has expressed outrage at the British government for coordinating the rescue mission without their consent.
