Howea

Genus 2 species of single-stemmed palms found usually on basalt soils, on Lord Howe Island, Australia. The Howea (Kentia) Palms are the traditional Palm Court plants which grow up to 8 ft tall. Two of the most satisfactory species for indoor use are Howea belmoreana and Howea forsteriana. Both are commonly listed as Kentia. Belmoreana is more erect in growth than forsteriana, although both grow from one central stem or trunk.
