Humanised antibody

A chimaeric immunoglobulin of human and non-human origin. In order to minimise the possibility of the chimaera being antigenic in humans, only the hypervariable regions of a non-human monoclonal antibody, which are responsible for its specificity, replace the homologous regions of a human immunoglobulin.
