Process in which the requirements of a top-level or higher-level object or plan are determined from the consolidated requirements of the lower-level (sub) objects or plans. For example, the requirements for axle, rim, and spoke are imploded into the requirements for the wheel which in turn are imploded into the requirements for the whole bicycle. Opposite of explosion of bill of materials (see exploding (Definition 1).
