In-plant chlorination
The practise of adding chlorine into the water supply to a fish processing plant. The primary purpose is to ensure that products, premises and equipment are not contaminated with harmful waterborne microorganisms. The chlorine can be injected as chlorine gas or as solutions of hypochlorite. The gas or solutions are metered into the water supply according to the water flow.
