A characteristically different way and pattern (style) of living for a given culture, subculture, or individual. The life style common for a given culture is often referred to as „mainstream" life styles while those which are uncommon are considered to be „alternate" life styles. Life styles vary in their interactions and effects on the environment, i.e., harmonious, exploitive, etc.
