Linnaeus leaf insect
Linnaeus leaf Insects are bright green insects with leaf shaped abdomen and leaf shaped projections on the upper part of the legs. Females have a broad flattened oval shaped abdomen like a leaf, while males have much narrower abdomen and do not resemble a leaf quite as much. The edges of the last abdominal segment and the tops of the cerci are often brown, and sometimes there is some brown spotting on the top of the abdomen. Females wings nearly cover the abdomen, but they cannot fly. Males have wings and can fly well. When disturbed they can make a sound by rubbing their wings together.
