Maturase

A nuclease involved in RNA processing; it is formed by translation of a fungal mitochondrial mRNA that is produced after a first intron is excised leaving an mRNA in which the open reading frame continues through a second intron and codes for the maturase. The enzyme, by participating in the cleaving out of the second intron, destroys its own mRNA.
