megalodon

Regarded as the largest and most powerful vertebrate predator of all times, megalodon is an extinct species of shark that lived on Earth some 1.5 million years ago. Fossil remains indicate that the giant shark reached a total length of more than 16 meters (52 ft), roughly two to three times the size of a great white shark. Their giant teeth are the size of a person's hand and are similar in shape to the teeth of the great white shark. Megalodon's diet is thought to consist mostly of whales.

Except the fossilized teeth, very little of anything else has been found about this ancient shark. As a result, people can only guess what megalodon looked like. Since megalodon's teeth are very similar to those of the great white shark but much bigger, it is thought to look like a huge, streamlined version of the great white shark.
