Minority government
A governmental system characterised by a ruling political party or coalition of parties that do not possess the majority of seats in parliament. A minority government is considered more volatile than a majority government because opposition parties have the capacity to dissolve parliament with a motion of no confidence. This is the opposite of a majority government.
