Mutant mosquito

A mosquito with an altered genomic sequence as a result of human genetic engineering or natural cellular processes known as hypermutation. Mutant mosquitoes can exhibit significantly different biological behaviours compared to their normal counterparts such as having a much shorter life span or reduced desire to bite humans. For this reason, mutant mosquitoes are often engineered to fight mosquito born diseases such as Dengue fever and the West Nile virus.
