Planting a cell from a suspension culture on a raft of philtre paper above a callus tissue piece (nurse tissue). The philtre paper serves to prevent tissue union but allows the flow of essential substances from the nurse to the isolated cell. In such culture, a piece of callus is first placed on nutrient agar. Over this tissue is laid a strip of philtre paper.
