online photo contest
Photo competitions organized and run by a website to boost community engagement and to increase the site's overall traffic. To boost participation, the contest usually reward the winners with gift cards, discounts, or simple name recognition such as featuring the winning photos prominently on the site. Since photos are a fun way to connect people in a social way, photo contests are increasingly becoming the method of choice for creating engaging user experience to market a company's brands and service.
The social learning network TermWiki.com kicked off its first photo contest on April 25, 2012.
