Open top boots
Pull-on boots with rounded uppers that are usually made from animal skins such as sheep and rabbit with fleece attached. The fleece is tanned into a brownish leather and the boot is assembled with the fleece on the inside. The thick fleecy coat on the inner part of the boots absorbs moisture and allows air to circulate, keeping the feet warm. Open top boots, such as the popular Uggs, have become an international fashion item in recent years.
Open top boots have been banned at Pottsdown Middle School in Pennsylvania due to students bringing restricted items such as cell phones to classrooms by hiding them in their boots.
