Oshizushi ("pressed sushi"), also known as hako-zushi "box sushi", is pressed sushi from the Kansai region of Japan. Sushi rice and toppings are placed into a mold, which is pressed to make a compact, rectangular block. This block is then cut into bite-sized pieces for eating.
